Leadership Transition at Levanta Renewables

Levanta Renewables announces that Sudhir Nunes will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, marking the end of a strong chapter in the company’s history. Pramod Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer.

After founding the business in 2018 and partnering with Actis in 2022, Sudhir has decided to take a break to spend time with family before returning to the sustainable energy sector.

Sudhir has led Levanta with vision and commitment, guiding its evolution into a leading renewable energy platform in Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, Levanta Renewables has built a strong portfolio of clean energy assets and established a resilient foundation for future growth. Sudhir’s ability to combine strategic insight with deep regional expertise has positioned the company at the forefront of the energy transition in the region.

Sudhir has greatly valued the partnership with Actis, whose support and collaboration have been instrumental in Levanta’s success to date. Together, they have worked to shape a business that is not only commercially robust but also purpose-driven and sustainable. Since Actis acquiring Levanta in 2022, Levanta has grown significantly, expanding its team from 10 to 75 employees across six offices in Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and its regional headquarters in Singapore. The company currently owns and operates 140 MW of ground-mounted solar assets in Thailand and is actively advancing a 1 GW buy-and-build pipeline. With a strategic focus on wind, solar, and energy storage, Levanta is well positioned for continued expansion across SE Asia. In addition, the company is diversifying its customer base, serving both utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) segments.

The board of Levanta Renewables also recently appointed Pramod Singh as the Chief Executive Officer and Pankaj Sakhuja as the Chief Investment Officer to provide continuous strong leadership to the business.

Commenting Levanta’s Board of Directors said “We are grateful for the impact Sudhir has had on the organisation in these transformational years and wish him every success in his next chapter. We also want to reiterate our confidence in the Levanta management team and its employees to continue to drive successful growth, as renewable energy plays again a pivotal role in shaping the energy transition of the SE Asia region. Both Pramod and Pankaj, who come deep regional and sector experience, are well positioned to take over the reins to lead Levanta in executing its excellent pipeline and to achieve the long-term goals of the company”
